Cellutitis (a blood infection) can kill you within days of a bad piercing done at home. If you hit the wrong spot or do it wrong; you can cause serious bleeding, loss of sensation for life (means no orgasms ever again kid), infection, scar tissue (which is painful the rest of your life), or even your own death.
It should be pierced vertically only (smart poster who mentioned that) so if you ever get it done by a professional, make sure you state you want a vertical hood piercing.
For the people who said pierced women look like trash, don't you know the best women are ladies in the living room, chefs in the kitchen, and whores in the bedroom? Silly boys, trash is for the grown ups to enjoy.
You have nooo clue how many Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, CEO's, Teachers, and other very worthy citizens have tattoos or body piercings. Lose the stereotype mentality kids.

I don't think I'd EVER be that brave , but get it done a pro and someone that is well reguarded. My friend had her belly button done and it got infected and left her with a scar.

How about growing up and not doing it.
There's nothing impressive about it and it's just plain stupid.
It's also a complete turn off and will make you come off as sIutty trash.

Oh my god DO NOT do that yourself!!! If you mess up by a mm you could ruin your sex life forever, not to mention it would hurt terribly!!!
