Wheter or not money is not an option, the best tv to buy depends on the type of tv that you want to buy. Do you want a plazma or an LCD? Or do you want a DLP or LCD rear projection? Do you want a rear projection or a cathode ray tube tv? The point that I am trying to make here is that there are many different choices out there for you to make. Everyone that responds to your question will have their own personal favorite brand and type. With the answers given to you on this site, take the information and research the ones that sound intriguing to you and once you have done a little research, you should be able to make a better informed decision as what to buy.

Well Sony is very over-rated and over-priced, oh yaeh lets not forget that they cost an arm and a leg to repair. I like the JVC brand myself, have never had a problem with them. If your going towards the plasma thing, stay away - do the projection instead. With the plasma there are many problems, burned inscreen image, breaking / burning out, minimum warranty and huge price. A projection is very close to the plasma in quality, when a projection goes down all you do is replace the light bulb in the back. Besides the prices for a huge projection are a third or less of the price of a plasma.
Go to Best Buy or Sears and talk to a sales rep, dont buy at the first store but do some shopping around and hit a Barnes and Noble to read up on electronics and TV's. These TV's are huge investments and you should do research before hand - also the technology is changing very quick so read up on it.

I've heard that LG is a very good brand. They make an $89,000 72" either plasma or LCD TV, if money really doesn't matter.
