It's not hard.
It should come with a cord that has two ends that look like this:

The one on the left (in the picture) is the one you plug into your computer. You plug it into a USB port, shown in this picture:

The other end plugs into the printer, into a port that looks like this:

That's all you have to do. Plug the printer into the wall, and turn it on, and you're set to go. Install any software that came with it on to your computer; if none came with it, windows will probably recognize it automatically.

You will need three things. A printer, a cable, and a driver. If this is a windows computer running XP the driver will most likely be detected once you have the printer installed. There are two primary cables that can connect a desktop printer to a desktop computer. One cable is called an LPT cable, the other is a USB cable. USB is the best way to go, if your printer supports it. By plugging in the USB cable and turnning on the printer, windows will try to automatically install it. If you are using an LPT cable you will have to use the control panel and manually install the printer (click start --> printers and faxes --> add a printer --> and then follow the wizard.

Good luck!

A printer connections dependss on your model and make. But you are rest assured that it will be easy. First you will need to start your PC. Then you will need to plug in the cable from the printer to the PC. You will notice that the cable will have certain size and shape. Only one of the hole will fit the printer cable. Unless the printer is using USB. It can be plugged in any of the USB ports (if you have more than one). Then if you are using windows, it will usually automatically detect the new hardware and tryo to install it if it recognizes it. If not then you will need the CD that comes with the printer to install the printer. usually it will guide you how to install the printer. If not then you will need to look for the file for setting up the printer. Having more problem where the installation is complete but not working. Then you will need to go to the control panel and select hardware to see whether the printer is running ok, if not then you will need to reinstall the driver.

What kind of printer to what kind of computer? Does it take a USB or a Centronics cable?
A good first step would be to find out the make and model of the printer. After that you could go to the manufacturer's website and look up the manual. It should have that kind of information in it.

Take the power cord (the one with the two prongs on the end), plug the two prongs into the wall, and the other end into the printer. Take the other cable (I'm assuming it's USB), and plug the square (not rectangle) end into the printer and the rectangle end into the computer. The slots will match the shape of the cable. Turn on the computer and insert the CD when it asks you.

again this depends on the type of printer you have......i will give a generic method....be sure you have the driver cd ready with you before you do anything..... a printer can either be using an USB cable or a parallel cable ( biggerwith lotta pins).... if yours is using the USB one..then make sure you put the cd in and install the programs before you actually plug in the USB cable ...otherwise you will have to go through many unwanted steps....Most of the driver cd's come with simple click and install wizrds..... same method for parallel cable also...

If you have windows XP then everthing is a piece of cake....you might have to accept a few dialog boxes..

I think we need to know more about what you are working with, like what type of printer and the connections on it, and if it came with any software and then it'll be much easier to fix.
