That ultimatley depends. Squats does a lot more for your verticle jump because it involves working out the body's core because it is an explosion workout. Another great explosion workout is performing cleans. If you do the cleans along with the squats, make sure to wear a weight belt so your belly has something to push against while in the explosion stage of each repetition. If a belt is not worn, you could pay an ultimate consequece.

all that will increase your muscles...but you should try jumping in sand...it will train your muscles to react better than a hard pressure activity
