Tenors have a higher range than Baritones. Most singers in Rock bands are Tenors, and can hit notes that people like me only wish we could hit and hold. Me being a Baritone, I know all about this, sadly. Baritones tend to have a richer tone in the middle ranges, as well as a versatile voice that can dip well into the Tenor and Bass ranges, but Tenors always get the soaring high notes and pretty melodies.

I, personally, love tenor voices.
Baritones are lovely, but those tenor high notes and the beauty of the tone are just irresistible.

Im an alto and I love to sing (no I aint any good but who cares, I sing for me anyhow!). The tenor notes are so much easier to sing with without having to bring everything up the octive.
