what can cause an easy going man, to all of o sudden turn into a grouchy, hateful man with a bad temper?

I would have this man go to the doctor for a full blood panel. I say this because I am married to a man who has mood swings and they started when a couple years before we found out that he was diabetic. He is like one Mr. Grumpy Pants when his blood sugar is off.

You need to ask HIM about it, before it is out of hand for both of you.
In my case, there are warning signs beforehand. Do you know his, and if this is the first episode, start taking some mental notes, so you can head them off. Don't be too scared if this is the first time-welcome to"men are real SOB'S"! But you can usually handle it. If this isn't the frst time, and violence is with it, then get the hell away so he knows you don't buy it anymore.

A girlfriend he doesn't want his wife to find out about? Finances in major trouble? A surge of testosterone? lack of sex? drinking problem? Drugs? Could be a million and two different things....did you bother to ask him? If not, do so. If he claims there isn't a problem, point out the differences in him. Let him know you are concerned and you want to help. If he gets defensive and argumentative, then let him know you aren't going to tolerate that kind of behavior from him. The longer you excuse it, the longer it will continue.

maybe he finally got comfy wiht you and he has had such a terrible time holding back his grouchiness and now he's finally happy to be the real him.

my hubby developed a drug habit that caused this and it took me a year of hell to figure it out....we had been together for 11 years and he never even so much as drank a beer so the drug problem and the bad temper all the time were both new to me....could be his job though that will make ya mean i wished that was my problem...lol...good luck

Did you marry him? lolz. This might be a sign of depression or becoming bipolar. My wife and friends said the same thing about me and I had a little talk with my doctor he gave me some meds and now I think I'm back to the old me I think.....

cheating by either party , ya'll cheating ?
go though some sort of depression ,loss in the family ?
lack of sleep , did his work hours change ?
lack of food , did he go on a diet ?

Im not going to say lack of sex only because i think a man is more prone to become whiney, depressed or more creative when they arn't getting any .but if he is old enough to have erectile problems that'll do it , I'd be angry too

ask him. how are we to know what he had to go through.
normally if people take advantage of your good nature or break your trust or hurt you when you did not deserve to be hurt it kind of builds the anger in you and you don't want to be good to anybody any more..............you don't see the point. the best thing would be to talk to someone about it or get professional help to learn to control or get rid of the temper. all the best!!!
