it's hard to answer without seeing the actual birthmark. i am sure that in this day and age, it can certainly be removed. you will have to see a dermatologist first. i had all these moles on my face and certain parts of my body lasered off. and i had a larger mole on my back cut and excised. i am sure your birthmark can be removed with the right medical attention.

I have a very large birthmark on my chest which I used to be incredibly self-conscious about when I was young. A doctor told me it could be treated by a skin graft, which would involve removing a slice of skin from my thigh. He said that even after this it would still be possible to see where the birthmark had been because of the different colour and texture of the graft. It may be that modern medicine has improved this technique, but you probably need to see a plastic surgeon.
