I think that award would have to go to one of many birds of prey. The hawks, eagles and falcons have far superior eyesight than any mammal or actaully any other class of animals. This is all attributed to natural selection, and adaptation. The hawk for instace has a hunting strategy that requires them soaring above the earth, sometimes a mile or more and they are looking down to see soemthing smaller than a tennis ball (rodents). Because rodents comouflage very well against the dirt background with their brownish coloration, superior eye sight was required to find them. Those individual with superior eye sight survived and reproduced, passing on this trait for keen eye sight to their offspring, and through the generations, it kept improving and improving.

It all comes down to necessity, and of course natural selection in the end. Im sorry i dont have any concrete source for this information, but I have studied, both raptors and evolution, so the two combined amke a pretty convincing story!

Hope that answers your question!

The Peregrine falcon!

It can spot a pigeon 5 miles away. That bird is a master piece of evolution. It's quick (arguably the fastest moving living thing) and has powerful talons and the best eye sight.

I'm sorry, I do not have a link for that, but it's in the bird facts book that I have.

Remember the phrase " Hawk eyed" . The hawk has the sharpest vision.

Sorry I don't have a source, but birds have the best eyesight. I don't know which bird has the best, but it is probably a bird of prey like a hawk or an owl.
