im female and i dont go straight home after work, i go chill with my friends for a lil while then i go home, most of the time its to get the hell away from husband so i guess thats probably why men do it to their wives cause they probably nag them to death

have done it both ways. different reasons support way. depends on where they go after work. for me my job is quite stressful and i get tired of people always asking for something. so when i get home and the four year old starts right in with his questions i cant treat him like i feel. so in order to be a better dad and parent and husband i go to the gym and work off or steam away any stress i can so that when i walk thru that door i can give them my undivided attention.
as for before and going to the bar coming home after a few ( or a few too many) my first line of self control is gone and i am a real ******.
have come straight home before also and been too exhausted from the day and kids want daddy time so i have to burn my last resources of energy and then it is all i can do to get to bed.
the break between life and work needs to be there for men as they need that time to disengage from what they do to be what they are. the road home is not good as all of us have experienced road rage at times before. but i would ask where he goes as that could be a clue for other problems.

I go somewhere after work so that way when I go home I shouldn't have anything else to do. Plus in a mans mind I'm already out might as well do what I gotta do.

So their wives won't be able to guage when they are off work or not. It confuses them and they can't tell if they are at work or at some women's house. If they keep to a fixed routine then the wives will know their exact schedule which is bad for the men. It will minimise their chances of playing around.

My husband doesn't go to other places after office but stays at the office just before midnight till he feels like going home. Though I'm not really sure if it's true, I still wait for him to fix his dinner. Trying my best to make the marriage last, but am not sure till when....

I have never had a man of mine go elsewhere but home after work. The guys that do that.......never have grown up.

We go to blow off some steam from whatever kind of day we had.. I do it to relax so i don't bring problems from work to the house
