They do not grow, but rather as the skin loses it's firmness, due to water loss (evaporation and blood withdrawal), the fingernails emerge. They appear to grow, but really only show more due to the lessened skin cover.

They don't. When you die the body shrinks and gives the illusion that hair and nails continue to grow after death. Don't believe those who tell you differently. I am 100% positive on this. Take care and I hope you have an amazing evening!

They don't the paronychium shrivels during the decaying process giving the nail plate the appearance of having grown.

as the tissue recedes away from your hair and nails they appear to gain additional length. they do not however actually increase in length.
