Depends, if you belive in action and reaction, e.g. that no reaction can execute itsselve (without action) than no, than all that is happening is determinded by a neverending line of actions and reactions...where it all began? Well if the beginning was a act of free will, than maybee there is a free will. If you do not acept causality, than there is room for a free will, but if the world is not determined (no free will, all happens as it has to) you will not know what effect your action will have. If heating water doesn`t neccesary lead to hot water, how can you excersise your will to make tee?

As far your action doesn't hurt others, you are free. When we live in the world we must remember others are equal beings and they too have the right to live here. When you honour that principle, you will naturally restrict your life within your own means. Within you there is a whole universe (mental state). There you have full freedom and you are only person there. Once you discover that universe - you will love to be there and there only.

Man is not technically free in this universe. The speed of light is a barrier that will keep us leashed for a long time to come.

We are free in the sense that hamsters are free in their cages. We can sleep, eat, play, even run on an exercise wheel (treadmill).

That depends on the action that they've taken. A good choice of action makes one free, a bad one does not because he is bound by bad consequences thus making him a slave and not free.

Technically, no. In principle, one's action in a particular situation could be calculated based on the totality of inputs that a person has observed in his lifetime. In practice, of course, this is impossible, so a free-will model is appropriate.

Freedom is a relativistic term.

The slave is less free than the citizen.

Choice / volition / action cannot be relativized in this way.

choice is always the same:
we always subjectively pick the best option.

Man is not free about their fate matters, for example you're not free to choose your father, mother or brothers. You're neither free to choose the country you bring up in.

On the other hand, you are free in your choices in life. You can choose to pray to God or ignore Him at all, can choose to obey your parents or throw their words all away, can choose to good to people or don't care about them at all,........etc.
To sum it up, LIFE IS CHOICES.

depends on your perspective...

yes, we have free will, to create our own experiences, to change the course of our lives..etc..

and we are also influenced by the rest of the world, the social group we belong to, to the degree to which we are not conciously choosing our every thoughts...most of us are slaves to some kind of addiction, be it sex, drugs, alcohol, TV, work, shopping...(whateva)... there are very few people in the world who are truly liberated, truly free
