Well Monday I found out I was pregnant I’m about 5 weeks, and I haven’t had a lot of the symptoms most people have when they are pregnant. I know all pregnancies are different, but the only difference I feel is that I’m tired, emotional, I cant sleep, and I get cramps in my stomach like I was coming on my period. I think I’m still in shock because everyday I wake up I expect to see blood in my underwear letting me know that it was all just a dream. Is it normal to feel this way? I know all people are supposed to know their bodies but I just don’t feel pregnant, and the only reason I know I am is because my period didn’t come and my doctor gave me a pregnancy test to prove that I am. So I’m confused....should I take this as a blessing that I’m not having all the really bad symptoms, or is it still early to feel the full affects of the pregnancy?

It is really normal and okay to feel this way.

I felt this exact way when we found out we were having number four. I couldn't believe I was pregnant, I had no symptoms except some early morning sickness and feeling exhausted.

I really felt like I was in a fog, and almost didn't want to believe it. I went through being angry at my husband, myself. Last year we had our third child, and it felt too early, I was still nursing our third, and we were moving.

Cramps, emotional (good and bad), insomnia all normal. Really.

Feeling adversion towards the pregnancy, especially if it was unplanned is totally normal... you are NORMAL. You will start to feel better when you begin to get along with it, and get bigger, and look forward to the arrival (happened for me around month four when I felt the lil' one move).

For now, buy some pregnancy books, pregnancy diary, and sign up for a day to day calendar for pregnancy (google it, and you will find an abundance of them online) to email you a daily blurb about what your embryo is doing.

One last thing. I hate to break it to you, really I do, but the symptoms of the first trimester in their grandeur begin about 6-7 weeks.

Hang in there. Check online and find a forum to talk to, I frequent twoweekwait.com, but there are several more pregnancy forums.

Good luck and congratulations!!

honey take it as a blessing that you dont feel pregnant. You are already a little over a month and havent had morning sickness. I would have given anything to have your symptoms. The cramps you are feeling arent really anything too serious unless you see blood. I had the cramps too and was told it was just the implanting from getting pregnant. You may still experience the symptoms, but it could just happen later in your pregnancy

Those were my symptoms as well. I never got sick and I couldn't believe I was pregnant. I had the misfortune, or fortune to have a gall bladder attack the day I found out I was pregnant, and when I went into the clinic to see the doctor, he called in the OB to rule out an ectopic, and she did an ultrasound. I got to see the little sac in my uterus. That made it seem very real. I was scared for the first 12 weeks, but I'm now 24 weeks and the little one is wiggling and squirming. I can't avoid the reality now, yet I still sometimes am suddenly shocked that I actually am pregnant.

You are very normal. Take it easy and enjoy it.

Good luck to you.

The first time I was pregnant I didn't know until I was 5 weeks along. I thought that I would get sick if I ever got pregnant. Within days of getting pregnant (I didn't KNOW that I was, mind you), I was EXTREMELY tired, my breasts hurt, and I was EXTREMELY emotional. You're right in that every pregnancy is different. The tests that you buy over the counter are the same as the ones you get at the doctor's office...and they are all about 99.9% accurate. Count your blessings that you're not having to eat soda crackers and trying to keep everything that you eat down. I only got sick once my last pregnancy. Be grateful, and enjoy the ride!

I think out of all women I had A GREAT pregnancy, no morning sickness no cramps until I was 5 months then I did for like 3 days. No swelling of my legs, feet, or anything. The only thing I have heard about cramping is that its signs of mis-carrie I don't want to scare you so if you get worried just call the Doc. about the cramps -k-

You should take it as a blessing for now. It's still very early, you have plenty of time for the morning sickness and bloating.

Oh, girl it's ok. You'll get yours. Don't worry. I started getting sick about 8wks. And stayed sick til 18wks. And it didn't sink in I was pregnant til I saw the ultrasound. GoodLuck!
