I had a bagillion bookmarks and they all dissappeared, plus my home page is set back to default. Is there any way I can find my bookmarks on my hard drive?

This happened after I shut my power off during a thunderstorm. Lightning nearly hit the house and I didn't want a power surge to destroy my comp so I just shut the power strip off.

~ Somtimes something as simple as a fresh install will repair or fix a multitude of problems.

If that doesn't work then perhaps you'll find help with the information offered here:

Lost bookmarks

EDIT:
Just a thought for the future.
It's a good idea to create a backup file of your bookmarks from time to time, and Firefox makes it so easy to do with the export feature.
( Manage Bookmarks/ File / Export. )
If you ever need to completely restore them, you just choose to Import them from wherever you stored them.)

find the Mozilla Firefox folder in Program Files. Then go to defaults>profile, and in there there should be an html file with all your bookmarks. If it's not in there, they're probably gone for good.

I don't know what you can do, but you should save your bookmarks on something like http://del.icio.us/
