What a drastic, big, wonderful, different, technologically bizarre thing MTV was during it's first years! Has MTV changed since you started watching it? Do you even still watch it? I'm guilty of liking that show "The Surreal Life" , and I even got caught up in that Ex-Brady Guy Is Getting Married thing. (See, I don't even know the name of it...lol)
Oh, and you'll need to answer the obvious unasked trivia question. Don't hurt yourself thinking...lol!

Yes, MTV is 25! It was 25 years ago(Aug. 1, 1981) when the Buggles "Video Killed the Radio Star" did in fact, kill the radio star. Too bad MTV has gone to hell since that time.
The show you're thinking about is My Fair Brady and that show as well as Surreal Life is on VH1

I remember when it first came out. The only music video "fix" we could get before that was "Friday Night Videos" (can't remember what channel it came on.
It is much different now than when it started. Used to be all about the music and I loved to watch all the videos. I loved the videos that had a storyline rather than just video of the band playing the song.
I don't watch it too much anymore. It just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

It hard to believe that MTV is that old , or is it just me I remember when getting an extra Chanel like PBS was a big deal .
The Surreal life isn't that on VH1 ?

MTV sucks now! MTV...Music Television....should change their name to RTV, reality television.
they used to play VIDEOS! now you have to watch "cut" versions during TRL w/ 300 screaming kids in the background. and then be interrupted by a minimum of 12 (yes i counted) commercials!
OR be up at 3am to watch the videos they run in the middle of the night, (which are usually rap). and I've got nothing against rap, i like it, but I'm getting sick of the rap videos..big breasted, women in skimpy clothing shaking their butts! i know those girls have MORE brains than that...but they sure don't act like it. even Busta Rhymes is switching over the the "hoochie" video girls and i use to LOVE his videos..they were wicked awesome.
now they have MTV2...and its even starting to sux now! i watched MTV in the 90s...it ROCKED, now i cringe when i am channel surfing and i pass TRL or The Real World, or ANY other game show/reality programing they have on. *sigh* i miss the old days!
