Okay, we have decided to have another baby so we were told by family planning to go off the pill and use a condom for three months while I take prenatal vitamins.
I am taking the vitamins.
We honestly forgot the condom the first time and when I reminded my fiance the second time he asked if it really matters.
Does it??? I mean does it REALLY matter??

➔ Trying to Conceive
Not as if it is your BUSINESS "ak" but WE have decided NOT to get married because he owes back child support to his other two boys (long story) and is currently trying to get caught up. His ex wife get his federal income tax and I'll be D*MNED if she gets ANY of mine or the earned income credit when Ally is MY daughter and NOT hers!!! We stayed seperate for a reason and once the child support is paid up to date then and ONLY THEN will we get married. Our first daughter (Ally, 19 months) was concived while we were using condoms (another reason I wonder if the condom thing really mattered) and I want two children and I don't want them far apart in age.

To tell you the truth, I dont think you REALLY need to be off of birth control for 3 months before you can start trying!! Different doctors say different things....they used to want you to wait, but now I think more and more doctors are telling you that there really is no need to wait once you stop the pill as long as you are otherwise healthy you can start trying right away!!
Im going through the same type of thing right now....my son is 2 1/2 and I dont want my kids to be too far apart in age either (2 1/2 is pushing it) and I was pregnant and just had a miscarriage this last weekend at 6 1/2 weeks along and I have a feeling my doc is going to tell me to wait a few months....but I dont really think it matters that much....I'm going to wait for one menstrual cycle and then start trying again!!
Good Luck!!!

Using a condom for 3 months is meant to allow your body time to get back on track. The pill regulates your cycle so well that your body may be in a funk afterwords when it has to regulate its own hormones. The reason it's important is because it helps prevent miscarriages while your body adjusts. When I went off the pill, my cycle remained normal (but with more cramping and more blood- I SO miss the pill for that reason, lol). It was very reassuring to me that my body was ready for conception. So yeah, it DOES matter. However, there are tons of success stories of women who had no complications when they didn't wait. It all depends on the weight you put on the risks. Best of luck either way!

It depends on what you mean by really matters. The three months are meant to give your body a store of vitamins and minerals that your body will use for the baby, as well as regulate your body. Going off of birth control is a big adjustment for your body. But if you're really impatient, no it doesn't really matter right now. I got pregnant the month after I got off birth control. The baby is perfect. Later in life I may regret that, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there :)

i have never heard of using a condom for 3 months after you stop birth control pills. that just sounds like they want you to do that so you have time in case you change your mind about another baby.
i have heard that taking prenatal vitamins are great.

The doctor told me that it gives your periods time to get regulated again. after being on the pill it could mess with your periods when you go off the pill. That way your not always guessing if your pregnant or not if you happen to miss or start spotting or something.

Not that much they just want you to get all the vitamins working in your system and have a healthy start at it, and also get the hormones from the pill out of your system.

no it doesn't matter. It just gives the vitamins so time to store in your body before conceiving. The better the diet the better the chances are.
Good luck, don't stress too much.

Another baby? "fiance"?
Forgive me but why are you not married yet?
I don't mean to sound stuffy but why are you having children without even bothering to get married? Maybe it's just me but your timeline seems a little off. Worry about matrimony before you worry about ovulation.
I'm just saying...

Not that I have ever heard of. You might want to ask your OB/GYN office. Just give them a call and ask. They will answer your questions!
