You are 100% right, it's a horrible remake and they don't deserve to sing such a good song. The only remake worse than this is the tv commerical that has some chick singing Jonny Cash's I Walk The Line. What were they thinking? Another remake that should be banned is Faith Hill singing Janice Joplin's Another Little Piece Of My Heart.

Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame.
The song is Landslide and you're right the Dixie Chicks
did not do a good version.

Interesting more than you know. Stevie wrote this in the 70's when her father Jess underwent open hear surgury. I say rhetorically, "Our parents become our children..." (My Quote)
Stevie said in all honesty were it today and not in the day of her initializing the thunder of Rhiannon....helping along the Celtic revival...wheich actually needed no help, was given a book & tore off like there was no tomorrow.of the Mabinogion. I recall when she wote ths song still at ASCAP at the time before signing with BMI in Hollywood and forming Welsh Witch productions.
She offered this."Were it today, she would have loved to have been a Dixie chick..."
Better version? The DC's took a spin off one of Stevie's later renditions of the song.....and true is as pure is to the heart, her initiial performance remains still true and always the fragility of a montana bluff ready to avalanche....however, through time, the resonant beauty and personal captive vocal strides have been copied ....emulatd, kareoked to death..and the beat goes on.
She was in awe of the Dixie Chicks not only pulling it off, but doing a genre change as well..they have NOT been the same sense....mayhap a little faery dust got in dem eyes of da gals? I hear they are not quite ready to make nice.........but nice is a sponge and one can fit a sponge anywhere....to be truthful ALL renditions of this magnificant piece are fabulouly worth listening over and ver again to. For yu see, not only Stevie has magic hee, and oh does she....but the ladies of thee Dixie Chicks are tho still forming, leagues ahead of many others. I cannot say I prefer one over another...they all pay "homage"....and that is a good thing...layered w/ myriad emotion and "LIFE".Thank You...now I can breathe,......Oh...they are All welcome in my abode. Always.

Fleetwood Mac's version is the only version in my opinion. The Dixie Chicks should stick to their own songs.
