There is probably a medical term, that nobody knows except doctors
We usually call it "sand" There is a cute little story about a Sandman who visits at night and puts the sand in your eyes to make sure you have a nice deep, restful sleep.

If you are of Royal pedigree, you would say "eyshes" like "ashes" if you are the butler's child and you are in their company you would say the same thing. However if the butler's children are by themselves and outside the hearing of the exalted, they would say "yampee" or "booboo" depending on where they are from. I know that is going to crack up at least 100 bloggers. It is about time I return a funny one.

That would be having "sleep" in your eyes. I have it every morning when I wake up too, I thought I was the only one.

Some people call it "sleep". Others call it "eye boogers" (a booger is the solid mucus that comes from the nose), or "eye crusties".

if you mean the little crusty stuff in the corner of your eyes in the morning when you wake up, I call them eye boogers.....I've heard them called sleepers too.
