Honey, if you understand the material, there's no reason for the bad grades. Try a different excuse, this one isn't working.

The learning is more important but the grades prove that you learned the material.

Speaking from experience, grades all depend on the conditions of the learning environment. A lot of variables go into how your grade will turn out:

- What kind of teacher do you have and what are their learning ethics?
- What kind of assignments do you get from him/her?
- Are you a person who learns visually or are you a left-brain type of person?
- Are you really learning anything, or have you heard all this material before somewhere else?
- Are some of your classmates a distraction?

My A. P. English class was a painfully accurate example. My teacher was young and just starting in her career. She drank cheap wine while grading our assignments (she even said so herself), she assigned pages and pages of homework that weren't even in her lesson plan to begin with, and the class itself didn't teach anything except how to read test questions. The only thing that kept me from transferring out was that I had friends there to cheer me up. I understood all the material, but barely passed with a D because of the teacher's chaotic teaching methods and the fact that no one was really very motivated to do work. In conclusion, I think knowing the material is more important than your grade. My dad graduated from high school with a D average, but he taught himself hard-core programming and gets a freaking awesome pay-check now! Thanks to him, I don't have to get a job to go to college! ^_^

Learning is more important.

Grades are measurements of current knowlege.

Learning is knowlege being gained.

Learning is the point. Grades are just a lame but necessary way of attempting to measure what has been learned.

I'm not sure what grade you are in.
What is your focus for school?
Your intitled to a quality education. The
effort you give is what your outcome is.
You need to balance your learning and
also obtain at least an average grade.
But, I figure it would be to your benefit
to give it 100 no 110 % of your best
effort. Challenge yourself, strife to
achieve success for your future.
Your a bright shining star on a clear
path going forward towards your goals.

getting good grades is important.but the most important is you must understanding what you have learn.because when you graduate and then you want to work, the first thing that interviewer would ask you is why they must hire you for this job..then they would ask you the general knowledge..so if you get the great grades but you dont understand what you have learn, you might have a big problems ok...you must get good grades and gain knowledge that you learn as well..think it..

personally, id say learning because thats really the reason why you are in school for. reality - wise and academically speaking though, grades are just as important because it reflects how much you have profited from the materials you supposedly have understood.
