I just found out that Iam pregnant yesterday, but then I started bleeding and we went to the hospital where the doc diagnosed me with a possible miscarrige. :( They said that it is common for some women to bleed and be pregnant, but I find that hard 2 believe. Last night I had cramps and bleeding and today slight cramps and bleeding. I dont understand how this happned, I have never been so heartbroken in my life. How and why does this happen. The doc toldme to wait until the bleeding stops and take another test, but I feel like I already know what it is gonna say.

I just went through the same thing a week ago! I feel your pain. The worst part of it though is that the doctors couldnt give me an answer. They couldn't tell me if I had a miscarriage or if I was still pregnant. They told me that it was possible that I either had a chemical pregnacy or that I was still pregnant and the baby might have still been too small to be seen by ultrasound. They told me that I should check back in two weeks. I also feel that I don't want to keep the hope alive that I might still be pregnant because I'm afraid of the disapointment all over again. The only thing that I can tell you is to pray about it. Leave everything in the hands of God and he will make everything better. Good Luck

That all sounds a little strange....since a Dr. has the ability and resources to figure whether it WAS or WASN'T a miscarriage. If they really said 'possible' miscarriage, I would see another Dr. ASAP. Anything's possible for heaven's sake, but you need to know what actually happened! If you were/are pregnant, bleeding and cramping can be a big deal, though it doesn't always mean you have miscarried. And, if you have miscarried, there is a chance you will need a D&C to make sure no part of the placenta is still there to cause you infection later. To wait until the bleeding stops is nuts, and I've never heard of a Dr. telling a patient to take a home pregnancy test. The Dr.'s tests are more sensitive to the hormone, AND he can do a sonogram to see what's really going on. Added to this that, if you were bleeding and cramping, there may have been or still be something that can be done to protect the baby. Find a Dr.

Hi, I been in your situation a couple of weeks ago. I had a pregnancy test and it was positive. But I started bleeding just like you and I also went to the doctor to see what is really happening. First, the doctor told me I had a miscarriage and that the bleeding was normal. After two weeks finding out that I had a miscarriage, I started bleeding and this time was much heavier and also this time I am experiencing more pain in the lower abdomen (left side to be precise). So I went back to the doctor and this time the doctor(different doctor from my first visit) checked me up really well and finally diagnose me of having "ECTOPIC" pregnancy. So, if I were you pls. get another check up and make sure that you really did have a miscarriage..Ectopic pregnancy is a life threatening case.

I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I JUST went through this this last weekend....I was 6 1/2 weeks pregnant (and VERY excited...it was my second baby)....and last Thursday I started bleeding! I went to the doctor on Friday and he told me the same thing..."Many women can bleed in their first trimester and still remain pregnant and carry a viable baby to term"...which I ALSO found hard to believe.....I continued bleeding from Thursday until today (Wednesday) and I ended up having a miscarriage. The doctor diagnosed me when I went in with a "threatened" miscarriage....meaning it could go either way, fully miscarry or I could stop bleeding and remain pregnant, unfortunatly for me, I continued bleeding and ended up fully miscarrying my baby! =(

It is a really sad and depressing time, and I TOTALLY understand everything you are feeling!! I want to start trying again right away, but am a little aprehensive (I dont want it to happen again)!!

Good Luck, keep your hopes high and pray to God that you stop bleeding and that your little one ends up better than mine did!! Sorry for what you are going through, but no matter what happens, you will end up ok.

it is posible to still be pregnate.i had one miscarrige like that but also had 2 childeren with the same bleeding patterns. but stressing over it only makes it worse. stay off your feet and get plenty of rest and eat right. in a couple days it should stop. i think in most cases, if you are more than a month along you should have some sort of mass pass.i would definately see a doctor right away, possibly a different one,(not ER)if the worst should happen, take comfort in knowing that most miscarriges are due to the body knowing that there was something wrong with the baby, something that would not have let a child survive after birth.belive me, it is much harder and sad to lose a child further along than it is in the first months.i think you should just try to take it easy and know that you are in others prays and thoughts.

i've had a miscarriage and it is very heartbreaking, but it happens for a reason and there is absolutely nothing you could have done to prevent it. something may have been seriously developmentally wrong w/ the baby and miscarriages is God's way (or nature's if you're not religious) of making sure the baby doesn't come into this world w/out of chance of surviving. just follow the docs orders, take it easy and if indeed you have or are going to miscarry, your time will come to try again. God bless you

I think what you need to do is seek out the best ob/gyn in your area. Regular doctors are not the best people to consult about pregnancies. I have severe acid reflux and my family doctor told me I couldn't take anything for it but Tums for 9 months. My ob/gyn said that's absolutely wrong and there are plenty of safe treatments should I decide to have a baby. So make an appointment with an ob/gyn and find out for sure, for your own peace of mind. I wish you all the best.

I have three children and I had my period every month like clock work. I am not a usual case, so don't get your hopes up by my story, listen to the doc and do what he says.........you maybe another case like me, who knows. If so, after the baby is born, you bled a normal cycle, not 6 weeks like the rest, so it has it's ups and downs. Be positive and try to keep your mind from wondering to the worst.

Yes, you can still be pregnant. Not alot of people still have periods while being pregnant but it's not unusual. My grandmother had 11 kids and with all 11 still had her period each month. Just follow your doctors advice and believe that if God wants you to have this baby it will happen. If you believe and trust him you can't go wrong.
