to let a 12yr old be in the computer,,in other words how late at night?,,,,,pleeeeeease help!

It should not only be how late should she be on it, but also how often. Kids need to be doing something besides sitting on a computer all day long chatting. I agree with the others; not too late b/c the weirdos come out. It should also be limited like TV time in order to develop other interests. Good luck.

depends on the kid? are they in school or out for the summer is it a weekend or not. Did they do there chores and so on. After that I would say amybe 10 durning the week if they earn the computer and a little later on the weekends.

I think any time is fine with supervision. We never let my kids on the internet unless someone is in the room and knows what they are looking at. And we never let them in chat rooms either. There's just to many psychos out there for that. And it's too easy to get into stuff they don't need to see.

Have your child go to bed before you or at the same time you do. Also, never have a computer in your room. If it's just you and your child, or you, your child, and your husband, put the computer in your room. Thats the safest spot in the house.

Thats really up to the parent, but it doesn't matter there are just as many dangers during the day online as there are at night. Monitor what your kids do and filter what you cannot monitor.
