TO Coach D.:
I am not a Chirstain. I am a Buddist. Be more open minded. If you were a gay wouldn't be saying crap like "may god forgive your soul" or crap like that. you'd rebell because its what you are and you cant change your sexual perferance.. people are born as a gay or les.. so they are born like that so in a way god created gays and lesbians and he is ashamed of his own handy work?

mike, mona, coco: this q is for you, and you don't even take the time to justify your angry overemotional answers. i'm a big ole lezbo and hold very high morals. i also don't have a crew cut, pick up truck or kick anyone around much less a lil woman. why do people like you always run and hide when someone tries to open positive discourse on this? i'm not trying to sway you, i just can't figure out how you can justify your words when you won't back any of this up with an actual and FACTUAL arguement. i am not a hetophobe nor am i a man hater. i simply want open comversation with logical, non mean spirited, people that actually take time to inform themselves with whats going on rather than throwing an insult or putting up a wall and cowering behind it. on a multiple time per daily basis i agree to disagree with people and i love different opinions, but neither of you gave one that has any basis in fact. how sad. here's a quote for you both (forgive the anonymity of the one who said it and please respect it's relevance): "the fewer clear facts you have in support of an opinion, the stronger emotional attachment you have to that opinion". i am not interested in getting married. hets have proven that it doesn't work. i do feel that my homo bretheren should have the same rights as anyone else. if my woman needs me to come to the hospital i'm going in and vise versa. the shame is that we'd be arrested. and for what exactly?
leon: without the queer nation, how do you propose to balance all the couples that breed? how do you excuse couples that choose not to breed? or are too old to breed?

It sounds to me like you might be a tiny bit over sensitive. I am a Christian and I believe homosexuality is wrong, that doesn't mean I hate gays. I also believe stealing is wrong, does that mean I hate all thieves? Of course not. I have met gays, and am friends with a lesbian, but that doesn't mean I condone her lifestyle. You want to know why I believe homosexuality is wrong? OK, here it goes.
1) I believe in standards of absolute right and wrong.
I believe God is the origin of those standards.
God said that sexual immorality (read: all sexual immorality, not just homosexuality) is wrong, including sodomy.
2) Homosexuality goes against nature. Men and women were created to have sex with the opposite gender for the procreation of children and for intimacy within marriage - homosexuality accomplishes neither of these goals.
There are other reasons, but it is late.

Why? It is the same as always in America. What people don't understand, they fear it or call it freakish. I am not gay, but it's your right to be. This country continues to forget the Constitution and this country was built on SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. Do what you want as long as it doesn't tread on my life or illegal. I am not God. If God feels it is wrong, you and He will have to deal with it, not me.
P.S.: That name is hilarious. I like it. Can I use that name somewhere else on the internet (modified of course)?

Most people use biblical excuses to act prejudiced, but the people who scream it out and hate gays, lesbians, and bi's are acting un-christian like. "Let ye that be without sin cast the first stone." I myself, do not approve of gay, lesbian,or bi marriage. But I do not DESPISE them. My religion states that all humans are sinful. God in my religion is merciful to all. So, the ones that bash all homosexuals, or bisexuals, are just prejudiced or lost. I will not stand in anyone's way. We all have free will. I have acted this way once, and I can assure you, I will not try to act like it again.
UPDATE-BTW I am a Christian.

To each its own. If marriages of the same sex is not legal.
Big deal. Isn't Love enough? I do not think you need a piece of paper. How many are married legally and unfaithful, uncaring, etc.etc. You should not care what people think. As long as your happy you should not give
a flying banana.

I am against Homosexuality because it is an abhorrence to nature. The base goal of nature is to survive, and procreation is base for survival. Homosexuality apposes that natural flow of life. If someone is born a man, they need to fill the roll of a man, if some one is born a woman, they need to be a woman, it was always thus, and always thus will be. I do know a homosexual man, and I can not stand is presence, and I could not stand his presence even before I knew he was a homosexual.

In the eyes of God and Christianity, you are disobeying the laws and tenants of God. The main purpose of marriage is to love and procreate. You cannot dp this. May God have mercy on your soul.

Because right-wing bible-pounding puritanical moralists are convinced that they must tell the rest of us how to live our lives, even to pressuring the government to pass laws to make us follow THEIR doctrine.

I don't think the majority 'hate' gays and lesbians. If that's your choice then fine, just don't parade it around. It's your choice to burn in hell.
