I had my first pap-smear today. I didnt know what to expect. I was raised by my dad and my sister is an idiot. I had a good idea what happens, but at the end of the exam the doctor used his fingers. I felt so violated. Is that what Im suppost to expect the next time I go to get one?

The doctor didnt even let me know what he was doing. He first just walked in, told me his name, and reached up my shirt. Bring my first time i was hopeing he would tell me whats going on.

I see a female dr. But don't worry what happened to you was totally normal. It just takes some getting used to.

Sounds like everything was normal unless your doc made you feel as if he was taking advantage. To be honest the 2 fingers thing.. shouldn't have lasted more than 2 or 3 seconds at the most. If it was longer and your doc made you feel uncomfortable, maybe you should talk to your dad, hopefully your relationship is strong enough that you two can talk about your problems and issues going on in your life. Always remember, if you feel the touching was not appropriate then you should say something, if not to your dad, then someone else that you trust.

I wish i could give you a detailed explaination of what to expect but i cannot because it varies depending on where you are trained. I have been trained to give pap smears due to my training in Gynocology but in my experience we do not make physical contact unless 100% required. That is my training. I am not staying the doctor was out of line again i am in training but without knowledge of what he was doing and what he did there is no way to say. Good luck and i hope you feel better.

Sometimes the doctor will put her fingers inside and push on your tummy to feel your female organs and see if they're normal. That is a regular part of a GYN exam. Of course, always insist on having a chaperone, or another person (female) in the room to make sure everything is cool.

that is y i would request a female doctor, i would NEVER let a male doctor do a pap test. is just not right
