I have my resume all set to go, but I know they will be asking for references (they had asked me to bring them). Can anyone tell me the proper format for citing my references? I know it should not go on the resume itself, so what is the next best thing?

Type "References" on a separate sheet of paper, then make up a format, or find one that you like.
Here's a sample:

References

The Factory

2. Jane Manager – Production Supervisor

Normally you do not put referees in the CV unless they ask you to provide for referees. That last section of the CV where you write reference will be available upon request is the section where you should put your referees since they have already requested for them. Some companies normally state that the CV should not be more than 2 pages. If your CV is 2 pages, by providing an additional page for the reference, it means your CV will be 3 pages, which automatically disqualifies you from the interview.

While most employers will always check your past employers, They almost never check references (unless you need a security clearance).
Just list the Names, Addresses, And phone numbers of people that will say good things about you.
