Be honest, you are trying to upset the NASCAR Bunnies, the ones who live in two-story houses, have a college education, vote Republican, have biscuits and gravy and grits for breakfast and fantasize about a driver from Post Hole, North Carolina., who likes banjo pickin music. :-)
I've used enough cliches for now, so I better duck as someone who has had his/her sense of humor surgically removed is sure to toss an empty Budweiser can or a rim from an `82 Chevy at me. :-)

F1 requires way more skill and physical strength in order to race properly. A nascar race is similar to about 10-15 minutes in a F1 car's cockpit going around a very twisty circuit like Monaco or Hungaroring, places where drivers barely have any "room" to breathe because they are basically in a corner for 90% of the circuit and they are pushed around by huge G-forces, up to 5 G-s in sharp turns and under severe braking.

I am from North Carolina and I too felt like the Original poster, thought it was the stupidest thing I has ever heard of, cars going round and round.......Then I was shanghaied to attend the Winston Open in Charlotte. I was sitting in the first row in the middle of the turn where #3 passed in the grass. The you dont hear the sound, you feel it, Paying attention I saw the skill involved, Hooked me like a bass on a June bug!You cannot really appreciate it until you go in person.

If you dont get it, you dont get it. No explaination needed for people who have already decided that its not a sport--- for most of us NASCAR fans, its WAYYYY more than 'driving around in a circle' its so much more. But, its too much to explain seems like you already made up your mind. But you are missing out. It is really the best!

Do you people think that if you bad mouth NASCAR enough, that we will stop watching it?? If that's you're goal, you're wasting your time. If you don't get it, you probably never will. Question: Can YOU drive 200 mph in an OVAL?? (They aren't circles!!) Hm, I don't think you can & I won't think that you can until I see you do it. Just read this & maybe you'll ACTUALLY understand it!

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST DRIVING IN A CIRCLE!!!! But like 24 said, there's no point in explaining it to you, you've already made up your mind. You don't understand it and you never will.

Well, I don't get grown men running around chasing a ball, but I bet you think there's more to those sports than that.
