Just about every song that is available on LimeWire is copyright, it is up to you whether you download it or not.

Personally I think that once you buy a opy of a CD or a CD single you should be able to give copes of it to who ever you want, within certain limits of course.

Here in australia our federal police force and some department is currently chasing the P2P networks and in the last few weeks they have managed to get Kazza to pay millions of dollars in compansation, and now Kazza is going legal.

Good luck

All artistic endeavors have copyrights at the point of creation; whether or not the artist has filed for copyright registration is another thing.

Despite what others state, a "poor man's" copyright is NOT the same as registering it. Here's what the US Copyright Office has to say:

"The practice of sending a copy of your own work to yourself is sometimes called a 'poor man’s copyright.' There is no provision in the copyright law regarding any such type of protection, and it is not a substitute for registration."

You can search US Copyright records here: http://www.copyright.gov/records/

Hope that helps!

I don't really know what you mean, but technically, all songs are copyrighted as soon as you write them. That means no one else can legally take them. And if they do? Just bring witnesses and rough drafts to court to prove them wrong! Sending a song to the U.S. copyright office for $30 just puts a date on it. You could have the same thing done by taking it to the bank and having it notorized for no more than $2. (Sorry if this is more info than you wanted!)

pretty much anything that has been released is copyrighted. You can still downloan music on limewire, but do it with the knowledge that it's illegal to keep it for more than 24 hours or something or burn it onto a CD.

There's ways you can tell if you go to options, but don't bother. If you're using limewire at all you're probably downloading copyrighted content without even knowing about it.

If it is from a major artist or the recording has been released for sale more than likely the song has a copyright.

Anything a person writes is legally copyrighted to that person, even if they choose not to register it with the copyright office. So all of it is copyrighted.
