First of all, the line is "One man caught on a barbed wire fence" The verse goes:
One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed up on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss.

The lyric is actual:
One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach.
One man betrayed with a kiss
In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love
(nobody like you...)
Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride
I know the song is about Martin Luther King.
Maybe he is stating a lot of men have died, this one (Martin Luther King) died in the name of love.

As this song is about freedom, I hope this line means that one man has taken the initiative to reach the barbed fence to show freedom to others also.

"One man caught on a barbed wire fence could be the crown of thorns Jesus wore when he was crucified" makes sense to me because the song parallels Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King Jr.
Thanks for asking because I had always wondered that myself.

Mmm..think Bono is talking about a guy that is visiting his cattle (incarcerated inside a barbed wire corral)...
Naaa...what do I know.. :P
You are better off asking if somebody knows Bono's phone number...get the meaning from the horses mouth...

I actually love the song "mom mom" by technique of Traci Bonham. i'll't %. basically one line from this song....the entire element is tremendous. i wager i'll narrate to it because I extremely have a fairly pretend relationship with my step-mom. I keep it cool including her basically to keep the peace. "i'm hungry, i'm grimy, i'm bleeding to death....each and everything'S high-quality!" each and everything is continuously about her, and if I extremely have a difficulty...that's only a funny tale. this is a outstanding song to get out frustrations! And by technique of how.....sure, I nevertheless "hike up my skirt"!

Not an expert - but you're taking the line out of context -
the next line "...one man he resist..." I believe is in reference to brining restraint to the people and also rebelling against it.
