His father is anti-semitic and denies the halocaust took place. When you grow up in that sort of home, those beliefs tend to get under your skin, even if you don't believe them consciously or logically.
If I got drunk, I'd probabaly be terrified of Christians after living with my overly religious mother as a child. I mean, seriously, I think I could probably say some very nasty things about them under the influence. While sober, I am smart enough to understand that sterotypes are foolish and that it's individuals and not entire groups that are the problems in society. I think Mel believes that as well...but I could be wrong.

his upbringing, his father belongs to a sect that split from the catholic church in the 60s (i think) they don't believe the holocost happened, they think jews not romans crucified christ., all kinds of moronic stuff.
