I really don't movie critics because if a movie isn't a perfect masterpiece, then they treat it like a pile of sh*t. For the big movie reviewers to give a movie a good review, it has to have a perfect storyline, flawless acting, and dramatic character development. Movies are generally made for a specific audience that will love that type of movie. I don't like the way movies are reviewed, they're not really reviewed but graded. Everyone has different tastes in movies, so if one person thinks a movie is crap that doesn't mean that millions of other genre fans won't love it. For example I don't think too many 40 year old, business men would find something like Clerks funny, yet millions of teens do. Movies shouldn't be judged and criticized but rather outlined and reviewed.

generally I don't care what the critics think, but when it is a boarderline movie I don't know much about, I tend to see what was said about it. Some critcs panned the new Superman movie, but I found it quite satisfying. The Life Aquatic got mixed reviews and I wasn't sure just what the heck it was, so I waited for the video to come out and I liked it. the family Stone got pretty good reviews, but I thought it was pretty average. And so it goes.

What is the reason for movie critics in the first place. I base what I am going to see by watching a preview or word of mouth. Most movies I like, the critics give a bad rating. How r they to judge what I like? I don't need someone to tell me what I should and shouldn't see. I think movie critics have horrible taste in movies.

I never choose a movie based on a critic and I am going to less and less movies as it iswith cost of tickets and the fact that they come out so quick on DVD . It has to be a movie I really want to see even if critics and everyone else says its bad

Sometimes I look. If pretty much every critic says that a movie is crap, I might choose to wait for DVD. Should have listened to them with the new "Pirates" movie...what a waste of time and money.

Didn't Roger Ebert or Gene Siskell write "Return to the Valley of the Dolls"?
And you listen to these people.
