Right-Click My Computer> Properties...
From there you should get all the info you need about your computer (besides your Hard Drive)...

An average desktop computer these days has about 1GB RAM (Memory), 80-100GB Hard Drive, and a 2.80GHz Prossesor

PS 1024 bits = 1 Kilobyte, 1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte, 1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte, 1024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte, 1024 Terabytes = 1 Petabyte... (B, KB, MB, GB, TB, PB)

PPS It works the same with "hertz" as with "byte" (MHz, GHz, Etc...)

1 GB is memory or a flash disk
if it is flash disk mean u can save more than 80 songs, lots of text files, little pictures files

if it is memory that is RAM mean u can check how memory did ur system using by pressing ctrl+alt+del then task manager screen open on that click on performance u can see how much memory ur system using if it is windows XP or Windows 2000

and also not only the memory will increase the speed want to increase processor speed....

How old is your computer? 1 gigabyte is very little memory. If I understand what your're talking about, 1 gigabyte is how much memory you have to put everything on, e.g. music, pictures. That's probably enough for 80+ songs and a crap load of pictures.
