Cantcu: Actually Castro threw our guy out of power. Our guy's name was Battista.

Jackaroo: Bear in mind that Florida has 25 electoral votes (or thereabouts). Elian Gonzales cost Al Gore Florida. If Bush disses the exiles, then they might vote for the Dem in 2008.

I would think not. We have our hands full right now, and I don't see any direct military action. I don't know of any organized Cuban revolutionary groups that would undertake an invasion with U.S. support.
I think we would support a political movement by Cubans to free their country.

Why invade? Raul won't last a week once Fidel is gone. He may be stricter but he's not feared and respected the way Fidel is. I personally think that Cuba would have revolted against Castro long ago except they figured he' die any year now so why take the risk?
The US need do nothing. Cuba will change Governments without outside help.
It is VERY much in the best interest of the world to help the new Cuba. It can be a model for what Democracy and a free market can do. Despite having limited natural resources, an economy that has depended on hand outs since Castro came to power watch Cuba shine when it comes to rebuilding. The rest of South and Latin America are going to look really lazy once Cuba gets out from under Castro and Comunism.
It will also seriously undermine Chavez. So if the US gets involved it will be to kick Venezualian troops out of Cuba.

Many cuban exiles have prayed for that day, and some might have the nerve to ask. The United States, despite the views of the radical left, does not engage in military action against countries that pose it no threat. We perceived (right or wrong) a threat from Iraq, but there is no perceived threat from Cuba.

Why would we want to do that? Are we STUPID, or just never learn?
Didn't we PUT CASTRO IN POWER?
Didn't we put Hussein in power?
The current Iraq government is going the same way and could turn out worse than Saddam!
I think Bush has done far too much damage for 1 man!

I think Bush would support a limited invasion but only by arming exiled dissidents and lending air support. They will wait till Castro dies though.

It won't be necessary. Once Castro is gone, the people will want to return to capitalism and the old resort atmosphere.
