what kind of lumber to use for a jaquzzi platform . on a twenty digree slop? needs to hold up to 5000lb. also cost for labor? please

Western Red Cedar- Naturally water and insect resistant. Looks beautiful, lasts for years, smells good too. Pressure treated lumber for the framing and posts.

Materials list- 10X10 Deck
8 2x12x10 Pressure treated Lumber (PT)
10 4x4 (PT) posts length depends on height and slope.
Concrete depends on hole size.
12 2x12 Galvanized joist hangers.

Western red cedar
20 5/4x6x10 if vertical or horizontal 25 if diagonal use framing square to space.
4 1x12x10 for covering the (PT) framing.

Stainless steel screws- no rust

For labor figure about twice the materials cost. I would charge $400 to $500 in labor. Two or three days work for 1 guy. I live in Colorado Springs labor will vary by location and contractor. Get as many bids as you can.

Railings will cost extra more in supplies and labor.

there are two choices for rated lumber, Doug or Hem fir. go with doug fir, it is far more dimensionally stable than hem fir. My Uncle, a carpenter, once saw a hem fir stud warp itself into a complete circle. for greater weather resistance use PTDF (Pressure Treated Douglas Fir) it's the green stuff. you can use any decking material that you want after you have built the frame. for the foundation work I would reccomend poured in place concrete pilings imbedded at least 2-3 feet into the soil for stability on the incline. If you don't know how to frame something like this hire a framer.
