hi there... suddenly i cant see the Folder Options in the tools menu on my PC.. i am usin winxp home sp2 .. and.. i read somthin to remove the file called NoFolderOption usin regedit... n i also saw the path of it.. but i cant open regedit.. it says tht the registry has been disabled by administrator.. and i was forced to restart the windows.. and ... in fact i was administrator... dont know wat is rong... please please and please help me ... ill b gr8ful to u... and also... this day... wen i started yahoo messenger .. it showed the same error and got to restart the OS... is it a virus or somthing? please help me out people... plzz

where exactly can i find tht system recovery? and.. i ve got it on the control panel but cant find any options to recover to old settings.. :(

i tried to open regedit in safe mode too... but its giving the same error

i wouldn't mess around with regedit unless you know what your doing , in xp it has system restore go there and restore it to yesterday or a couple of days ago when it worked good

Can you do a system restore? Try to do it in safe mode.

Reboot and press the F8 key until you get a menu to choose which reboot you want. Choose safe mode.

Log on as administrator. And use Run: msconfig to get System restore to a previous date.

Another shortcut that might work in safe mode: hold down the windows key and press the pause/break key on the top right of the number pad. The window that comes up will give a system restore option in one of the tabs.

I'm not really sure what has gone wrong there. Of course, next time back up your registry before editing it. Scary stuff
