I am going on a cruise in about a week and I am so nervous I will get my period...my period comes as it pleases so I never ever know exact dates! Is there a way to stop or if it comes speed up the process?

I dont think so. It is better if you can start keeping a calender of your cycle and you will be able to tell when you will have it.
You should have a 28day cycle. All women are different tho.

Good luck with your cruise.
Just found this great place to keep up with your cycle

Having your period is a normal thing. As far as I know, the only way to regulate it, is by going on birth control. That's the only way you'll know for sure what date you'll have it. But its a little too late if you're going on the cruise in a week. Relax and don't worry about it, otherwise you'll probably bring it on if anything!

You could get a birth control pill however it won't help you for the cruise. These aren't good ideas but if your to overly stressed and starved I don't think you get your period. I would not suggest you try that in any way though! I would just hope for the best. Sorry!

Talk to your doctor about going on the pill. At the least it should help regulate your periods. And although it's not recommended to do all the time, you can skip the sugar pills to stop from having your normal period. Only do this if you really have to though. Talk to the doc they'll sus you out.

Well there is no way you can speed it up, but there are certain types of birth control that can make you have a period every 3-4 mos, or every 6 mos. Check into the depo-provera shot, or an IUC (Mirena).

The pill. Many women take it even if they are not sexually active to help regulate periods and control symptoms of PMS. But it's a bit late now, because it takes more than a week to fully kick in.

No, you don't have control over your period.
Unless you take birth control pills, you can at least regulate it.
Use tampons or a cervical cap to control the blood flow.
