I don't know of to many people that can pay around $100 for a video game, and i don't see how a $600 system and really expensive games will keep them at the top of the video "battle".and i am a long time playstation fan and i don't want sony to start going downhill.

They system is releasing in two versions. Core System for $399 and the Whole System for $599. I've got cash down on my Whole System, but that isn't guaranteeing me a system on the 17th.

If games are hitting around $100, they will not sell many. I have heard the standard release price for common games is going to be around $59. You can already reserve Madden 07 and Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PS3 (which release in October....funny?) and they are listed at $59 each. That's 10 more bucks for a higher graphic, better playing game. I'm sure that there will games that will go higher in price, but will probably be some of your better RPG Games. I've heard rumor of a new Star Wars RPG game for the PS3 that's supposed to be the RPG of all RPG's.

At this point, who knows.

Just like every other game system ever, it will be released *just* before X-mas for an insanely huge price tag, then come down once everyone has seen one. However, I doubt the games will push the $100 mark. Even if they do, those will come down too. That's the marketplace for ya'.

Sony won't go downhill, they just know everyone is going to buy Metal Gear Solid 4. Then after the hype passes, they drop the prices down to bring back the sanity in your life.

since the games r on the latest blu-ray disc technology.. i wouldn't be surprised if the games are in the 70-80 range..... and the system itself will be 600+.... so sony will have a hard time convincing ppl to overlook the price tag

If games are more than 50-60 dollars they will not sell.
