Mel Gibson is getting so much press because he made anti-semetic remarks. He also made The Passion of the Christ, which upset many Jews and made some people to beleive he is an anti-semite (made for good press whether this is true or not).
If Will Smith made those same remarks it would have not been quite as big, not because he is black, but because there wasn't a suspected agenda with him and Jews.
Mel Gibson has proven he is an anti-semite, in my book.

If he was black they would blame it on hundreds of years of white repression. After all white people owe blackie 40 acres and a mule.
If he was Hispanic then it's all the frustration of having to cross over the border.

I think Mel Gibson is getting pounded because of his stardom. I think he made a mistake, which proves he is human. We have all made mistakes so I don't see what the big deal is. He said some nasty things and the press jumped all over it. I think we should leave him alone now.But they won't. They won't quit until they see blood.

Mel Gibson is getting the bad publisity because of his hurtful behavior and words. He was a jerk! Race aside, he was very degrading to others.

Yeah, because bashing Jews after making Passion of the Christ pretty much opens him for any abuse they can pour on him. He deserves it, what a stupid thing to do whether he is or isn't anti-semitic.
