Lets put it this way.

Every time the min wage has been raised the people making above min wage did not get a raise. So each time the min wage has been raised it only meant more people were making min wage.

Each min wage increase has caused inflation and cost jobs.

Each min wage increase has niether kept up with cost of living increases or made a difference in buying power for min wage workers as the inflation that resulted meant min wage workers now had LESS buying power but DID pay more taxes.

In conclusion. Min wage increases are a sneaky way of increasing taxes on the very people who can afford the tax increase the least.

Given the utter failure of past min wage increases why would the next one be any different?

Raising the minimum wage will hurt the small business owner. It will also cause larger corporations to cut back on the amount of minimum wage workers it hires. Not to mention the cost of the raise in the minimum wage will be paid by consumers,(mostly felt by the very workers it is supposed to help). OH I forgot, the loss is workers in the work force means the tax's they were paid has to be made up by those that do pay. Cause them to spend less causing the economy to slow which will cause the loss of more jobs which cause the loss of additional tax revenue making those that have a job to pick up the slack causing them to spend less causing the economy to and on and on. I guess this is OK for the Leon Tritskys of the world who still think communism is the answer... even tho it has failed every where it has raised its ugly head.

Well, I work at McDonald's and I earn thrice as much as a public teacher in the UNAM (The bestest college in Mexico). So compared to other nations, America isn't doing so bad =). But if it was within my power, I would definitely strip the government officials off their money and give it to charity. Heck, there's people who'd be willing to do a better job for free, like philanthropists and all that stuff.
I think the solution to all our problems is to eat the Jews, what do you think? (kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
