Human growth and development is controlled by two factors, generally called 'nature' and 'nurture' cuz the words are cleverly similar. Nature means genetics. If your mom was a late bloomer, you probably will be too. Nurture means upbringing, especially nutrition. Give the body what it needs to grow and it will have better growth.

Genetics. I had it. I don't remember the name, but I grew like a boy does, in one summer. Usually girls bloom a little at a time and then stop. Boys bloom in one summer or it seems like overnight. I went from 4'9" in June of my 14th year to 5'4" by August, got my period and boobs. It was terrific. I went from looking like a skinny boy with long hair to a 34 22 34 figure. Wow! It drove all the boys (and my daddy) crazy. My daddy had to chase away all the boys. My dad called me fat and my mom explained to me that I was not fat (I doubt it at 103 lbs) but that I was a women literally overnight which is a lot for a father to handle.
