I would like to soften the skin on my arms, my legs, and my face. I do not want to go out and buy a product. My mother says that there is a remedy where you go to a sauna and make yourself sticky in honey. Your pores will open up so much that your skin will asorb all the honey, get rid of the stickiness, and make your skin like silk. Should I try that, but instead of going to a sauna, I could turn boiling hot water on in the shower and let all the steam build up. Anybody know any other homemade remedies?

By the way, I don't have pimples, maybe a few, but they aren't the problem, I need soft skin, soft, healthy, and beautiful skin.

You can use some at home tips, as your mom says, to soften the skin. Depending on your skin type (combination, oily, dry or sensitive), here are some mask ideas you can make:
1. Avocado mask - mash the pulp of a ripe avocado and apply it all over face and throat; let it sit for 10 minutes, then wash off.
2. Protein mask - beat one egg white, and apply to face and throat; leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse.
3. Banana mask - banana, honey and a few drops of orange or lemon juice should be mixed together, then applied to face, skin; rinse with warm water.

Also, to soften body, apply lotion after showering/washing and before going to bed. Wash and moisturize face twice a day - in the morning and before going to bed. Also, be weary of products that have "alcohol" in them when you do buy products; these dry out our skin even more.

After you take a bath, try applying moisturizers. For home-made remedies, if you have coconut milk, you can apply some on your skin 30 minutes BEFORE you take a bath. Some people use the squeezed skin of oranges or lemons since the citric oils on those skins help soften the skin. Some actually use the entire fruit on their bodies. If you have baby oil in the house, you can try this: after you take a bath, before you towel off, apply some on your wet skin (not too much) and then one more shower off just to wash it off but don't soap. Then towel dry after.

Melt chocolate (make sure it's not too hot), and give yourself a chocolate mask wherever you have dry skin. The cocoa butter and the properties of chocolate do wonders! A lot of spas are now offering dark chocolate masks. For instance, a pedicure with a chocolate foot mask! To do a mask, put the warm chocolate on your skin, and let dry. Then peel off the chocolate layer when it dries.

Take a hot shower, and put some moisterizer..But don't put honey. I did that once on my back and my pores clogged, and I got pimples.
