i don't know what kind of spider it is.it has a small body and skinny stick-like long legs.it's just hanging upside down on its web.the ceiling is taller than normal homes.i don't have a ladder or bug spray.what's an ideal/good way to get rid of the creepy spider? p.s.i have a phobia of spiders^__^ i don't want to call anyone to help me like i always do.does the spider keep its offspring of spider eggs hidden someplace else? how do i find it and get rid of it before they hatch more creepy crawlies?:( what should i do or not do? answer only if you have good tips or a solution in your own words.thanks.

if i leave the 'harmless' spider there to help eat the flies, will it crawl to ground level at night and bite me or re-locate its eggs in my pillowcase or something? are the eggs visible to the human eye or do i need a magnifying glass or telescope.i don't have either.are there natural home-made bug repellents i can apply on my skin to repel it?

do you think the spider might be afraid of the smell of incense so if i burn incense,it will crawl lower for me to vacuum it?

hi.i'm testing out the hairspray.from my calculations of the angle of the ceiling and where i'll be standing,i think the hairspray will rain down on my face like a mist and get my eyes.so i'll need goggles.maybe a hasmat suit too.hmm...quite a dilemma.ok here i go,facing my fears.update tomorrow.

hi again.i did a few practice tries with the hairspray and sorta ran out of hairspray by the time i was ready to get the spider.needn't worry because i found an alternative.i used the lemon air sanitizer spray with the nozzle that spray upwards instead.i have this taller bar stool chair so i climbed on it while trying to keep my balance when i stood on it(fyi:it doesn't have much standing space),then i aimed the nozzle at the spider, closed my eyes and sprayed full blast for about a minute.i opened my eyes and the spider was gone.it must've fallen to the ground due to the pressure.i was scared that i would step on the spider with my bare feet so got back down&put my feet on the wooden bars on the side of the bar stool&held onto the seat cushion, while i was scanning the carpet for the spider.i didn't find it.i was kinda tired/mad so i went to the mall for a few hours:)when i got home, the spider was back on the ceiling, only a different corner^^ it is fate.the spider shouldn't be bothered.

Greets..
Yeah, the vacuum solution works well.....but, they do eat mosquitoes, moths, flies... so we would vacuum up most of em....and leave a few in critical areas. Mosquitoes spread diseases and these lill guys don't.
Organic bug spray if you will.
take care

OK..........Time for a "home made" flame thrower....easy to use one time shot and the spider is fried as is his web..all in 1 second!! To do this in 1 second...get a cheap can of hairspray... get the lighter an point the can at the spider web and spider//( u can be 4 ft away and this will still work) now light the light and push down on spray button.........YOU SHOULD HAVE A BALL OF FIRE IN 1 SECOND.as soon as u see flame quit the spray..the heat( approximately 650 degrees ) will toast the critter and web. It is safe ,fast and effective....it is a (HOT AIR TSUNAMI) I suggest you practice outdoors before you do this indoors....its great for ants and other creepy crawlies......IT EMPOWERS you control your own destiny..and never be afraid again...u can show your friends a new way of life and perhaps start a PARTIME business and charge loads of money to erradicate spiders for people!! AQUA NET is the best hair spray ...it is excellent for 99 cents at you dollar store. YOU can call yourself "the NAPALM QUEEN"....THIS COULD BE THE START OF SOMETHING BIG!!

Try using Osage orange , 1 in every room.or even a half and place them under a chair or cabinet out of site. since the Osage orange contains citronella it is a very effective way to get rid of spider and bugs in your home

I was under the impression that daddy long legs were insects, not spiders, but I could be wrong. If it's way up high on the ceiling, it won't do anything to you, just ignore it.

Been there... *shudder*
vacuum cleaner with the long hose attachment - suck him up (you can go so far as to change the bag right away, too, but I usually assume the suction kills them).
yuck.
good luck!

Try reaching up with a broom. Eggs, if any, should be right there too. Good luck!
