like not dream and then wake up, and your awake. but like wake up IN your dream. be in the dream and be like, "hey, i know im asleep! im dreaming!". ya know?

i mean it HAS happened to me before, but i saw somewhere that you can make yourself do it by sleeping in a certain position and doing other stuff or something. but what? how?

its okay if ya dont know. kinda just wondering cuz it'd be pretty cool. (:

yeah actually most of your answers helped! but um yeah, i was looking up lucid dreaming on the internet, and it said that most of the time its when your awake in your dream and with skill and practice you can actually control your dreams.

wow!

it sounds cool, yet creepy. *shudders*
haha. but yeah. and also it said that when you wake up after a lucid dream, it can be weird. because the dream felt realistic like you were concious during it.

I have same problem. I have PTSD, so my dreams can be pretty bad.

I tell myself right before I go to sleep, what can happen, and if it does, if I should dream of the PTSD event or anything like it, I will realize that I am only dreaming. It isn't real and I am to wake up.

It's training the mind for what to do, ahead of when it may happen.

Over time and practice, the brain will accept, take over and pull you out of such dreams.

The converse is also true. You can train yourself "to" dream of certain things. Of course you may not remember, but then you have to say before you go to sleep, remember or forget.

Hope this helps.

it is a sleep condition called lucid sleep where the sleeper gains operational or situational awarness of being asleep It can be a rather shockin experience to be locked inside your body I know it used to bhappen to me quite a bit as a kid but not so mach as a grown up I can now jolt myself awake ( and that aint pretty either)
