Hey Lindsay M, i like your answer, but how do you know that he didnt visit the bars and brothels? There are lots of things im sure Jesus did that arent put in the Bible. Remember. there is a part in the Bible where they dont say anything in detail about his life when he was in his late teens and twenties.

Right on. The trick is not falling into those sinful behaviors, or lesser forms of them. I agree that loving our neighbors and trying to do right by them is important. But one can't underestimate how difficult it is to resist temptation in those environments. We are meant to attempt to emulate Jesus. But none of us ARE Jesus (at least not in the most literal sense). So we all fall short sometimes.

So I guess what I'm saying is this:

Yes, we should spend time with those people and also not judge them or think we're "better" than them. But we would also be wise to think about when and where that time is spent. It has to be productive. Going to the strip club and just sitting there with the other guys doesn't really do much good.

What might help instead would be talking to someone in their own home... in the afternoon... while sober. haha. Then maybe the message would be affective.

yes, He also beat the crap out of the folk that ran con games in the temple too! He was/is zealous for His Father's Kingdom and for that reason He blasted the Pharisees and Saducees when they expressed doubt and disbelief about Him, His Word, and His Mission, and some of us here do the same to those that try to berate Him, His Word, and His mission.

But notice, they were either brought to him, came to him, or he visited their home. He did not visit the bars and the whore houses. But yes, we are to love those kinds of people too, otherwise how will they come to know him?
