With the heat wave this week how many of you endured ice cold showers?

First of all, I can't stand hot showers. I always take a shower in luke warm water. Then, when I'm done, I turn the hot off and the cold all the way on and turn around once or twice in the spray and turn the cold off. I've heard it's supposed to be good for you. My cousins went to Colorado in the mountains and went to this resort where there was a hot tub out in the snow. They would get in the hot tub for a while and then jump into the snow and get all covered in it and then jump back into the hot tub. It jolts your nervous system. I think it's good for you. Have you ever seen those guys in Anarctica who wake up in the morning and rub themselves with ice cold snow in their underwear. Anyway, I'm enduring the heat wave in Chicago right now and ice cold showers are a must, not just for now, but I've been like that for a long time. If you're in there too long you almost start to hyperventilate. That's the point at which you should turn the cold off. Hehe.

We have finally cooled down after 18 straight days of 100+ temps. The highest 114 and averaging 104-05. Hotter than a pistol. Low humidity, lots of cool showers, tho the house stays pretty cool. Dips in the pool. The heatwave wore down, then came several forest fires, so we had a lot of smoke to deal with.
Sure enjoying the cool 90s again.

Psssssssssss........ that's the usual sound of cold water on a heated item..... its welcome treat to take ice cold showers in this heat...... but only during the day. At night, best not to take ice cold showers since they stimulate circulation, etc etc and its hard to get some decent sleep.... a warm bath normally cools you off....
