Which is better, a job with contract and a job without contract? What are differences?

A contract lays out a list of expectations. If either of you don't meet those expectations, then you have made a breach of contract.

It depends how the contract is written. But remember all contracts are meant to be broken. It's a general rule and holds lots of truth to it. You'll understand if you get to that point some day. You'll go .. wait.. that's not what I thought it meant.. you have a meeting, and you create an ammendment to the contract.

MAIN DIFFERENCES?: A contract can be good if it makes things clear and up front whereas if you didn't have one, the job could be wishy washy.

i.e. contract says you'll get 5% increase every year - that's pretty much solid. Without contract, the employer verbally says.. you'll probably get up to 5% increase... they could give you absolutely nothing.

Contract could say that they can't fire you for no reason and sub out the work to another company . That would be in your favor as well. Without contract, they could lay you off and sub out your work to some other company for half the price no matter if the job they do is crappy or not.

Contracts are (typically) better than no contract. It's usually just a way to safeguard the employer and the employee and lay down some general guidelines that force both parties to hold to what they said.

Again, contracts are meant to be broken. Most state that either party can cancel the contract at any time with so my days advanced notice. So you could cancel your agreement and then say.. hey.., I know we said 5% increase., but I know I'm worth more and I've had a job offer, can we renegotiate.?

Neither a job with nor without a contract is permanent. Nothing is permanent. Actually the contract typically makes it more permanent than not having a contract.

Yes, a contract always has an expiration date, but most contracts allow for extensions or renewals. Without a contract, your in a sense renewing yourself every freaking day. At least with a contract, you know where the end is or isn't and what to expect.
