I Started a Joke was sung and written by the BeeGees before they went disco. If anyone else sings it, they're doing it as a cover.

Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb (1968)

I started a joke,
which started the whole world crying,
but I didn't see
that the joke was on me, oh no.

I started to cry,
which started the whole world laughing.
Oh, if I'd only seen
that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies,
running my hands
over my eyes,
and I fell out of bed,
hurting my head
from things that I'd said.

Til I finally died,
which started the whole world living.
Oh, if I'd only seen
that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies,
running my hands
over my eyes,
and I fell out of bed,
hurting my head
from things that I'd said.

Til I finally died,
which started the whole world living.
Oh, if I'd only seen, oh yeah,
that the joke was one me, oh no,
that the joke was one me, oooooh.

The Bee Gees sang that song years ago. I started a joke and started the whole world laughing, oh if I'd only seen that joke was on me. I looked at the sky, holding my hands over my eyes.....

Its not a Wallflowers song. Its a Bee Gees song. "I Started A Joke" unless Wallflowers horribly ripped them off.

I don't think that's the Wallflowers unless they remade the Bee Gees song.
