The term African American is used out of context. How many black people in America were born in Africa?...I would have to guess very few! I do not agee with this term...no more than I would call myself Irish American as I was not born in Ireland!

Very clever, however you have forgotten the American historical fact of dehumanizing a race of people for profit. Its imperative to remember the past as it existed and the consequences of those actions. Which by the way, lead us to the subject of self-determination. Afro-Americans for the most part find it more appealing than the radical, hyper-alienation terms assigned and designed to prevent equal opportunity. Therefore with proclivity and no reservations denounce your innuendo as rubbish.

The hyphenated word is used in the USA. I have not heard of it being used any other place. That is why there are Italian-Americans, Japanese-American, German-American, etc. People just want their ancestry evident as well as their citizenship. Go figure. I am a Child of God.

British or French or just Black. Only in America do we have a division of every race. But if he's only LIVING in America and wasn't BORN in America, he's whatever he's called where he was born.
