Very good observation. Information is important. It is a commodity of sorts. There is a good possibility that the information from the mundane to to the erudite is of interest to more than one group of somebodys. National, international, even inter- gallactic.
Behavioural Socical Scientist would have interest for a variety of reasons ranging from marketing, sales, politics, scientific, persoanality research, control, crossectional overview, etc.
The founder of this discipline was also the founder of propaganda, which later became known as advertising. His big money came from making advertisements for the WWII war effort. Listen old radio shows, movies, & newsreels, his handi work is present.
There was a time (35-40 years ago) that it was not popular to be as forthcoming with personal information especially in public forum as it is today. Talk shows actually had people of accomplishment featured. Today's shows encourage belligerent & belicose behaviour.
There 2 'up-sides' I see:
1. The exchange of ideas between Humans, along with the observations of the variety of Human behaviour & perspectives. The forming of virtual communities and the interrelationships.
2.This one is a little far fetched. If there is any truth to the possibility of the "evolution of the Human though the electronic computer intelligence," then the computers are gathering data/ information on everything from popular fads & culture, history, philosophy, religion, science, arts, literiture, music, and most any thing that makes the Human, from the substantial to the insubstantial; as the computers improve its ability to analyse Human processes will also follow. We are teaching the computer everything we know or think we know. Even Nonsense. Once nonsense is mastered by the computer, a new relationship might occur.
The child might grow to be the teacher of the parent!
Be the obsever, that observes the observer, oberving the observer.
Stay tuned.

I woudln't doubt if they checked the q's and the a's and snooped into our ids every so often (not passing a judgement, but I woudln't put it past them to do it)
But a government plan to get inside our heads? I think more of a corporate plan to make money maybe. There's generally two problems with 90% of theories about government conspiracies. Not that some of them aren't true, but...
1. The government cannot keep secrets well. I'm sorry, but there's too many people out there in the government to keep a secret for very long. As to whether the secret is reported is a different story.
2. They assume that the government is competent enough to plan out an elaborate conspiracy, but if the government were that competent they would probably have better things to do than plan out such a conspiracy. I hope this is true.
But who knows, it very well could be. And good birthday analogy.

If the government gave a sh*t about what we think then it wouldn't be the way it is, and that's the whole point. No one sees that the government doesn't care about us. And the only thing they're doing to keep us at bay is brainwashing us into thinking they DO care and DO count our votes. Fu*k the white house and fu*k GB and all his little minions and stupid ideas and I hope they get it nice and deep in the *** because they all are HUGE assholes.

I doubt it changed into that properly prepared or idea out. Republicans are not that sensible. yet toddler Bush did look any incorrect way till we were given attacked - and then he used it to easily phuque us sideways jointly with his sleazy republican Patriot Act and the reshuffling of the authorities into his little Nazi "fatherland protection". there's a diverse reason that someone offered the total courtroom to placed that valueless little psycho contained in the White domicile - and he's screwed this united states of america probably better than any president ever.

Some folks are so paranoid, they see "Big Brother" in everything. Even if the government is looking in, they are probably laughing themselves silly over some of the questions/answers.
