B/c they know deep down inside that its wrong what they are doing. No one hides under a sheet unless they are ashamed. Everybody's looking for some sensationalism, unfortunately some are attracted to hate. I mean could you imagine the fall out if the local mayor of a town let everyone know he was a KKK member? Oh, the fallout.

Because before being in the KKK consisted of sitting in a room yelling white power and making up black jokes. They actually commited serious crimes... and now it's out of tradition.

I have heard they do not wear the white sheets any longer. They originated from Indiana and I am living here now for 2 years if I have seen one, they must have been in a suit or casual clothes.

Tradition...back when the KKK started the local sheriff and politicians did not want to be recognized...not to mention that they are often performing illegal activities and do not want to be identified.

Because other people are (legitimately) angry with them.
Incidentally, in Florida and a few other Southern states, it's illegal to cover your face in a parade or rally for just this reason.

I know... I would think that if I were that proud and passionate about something, I would want people to know who I was and what I was about. They are cowards and they know it's wrong, just my opinion.

Because, if their identities were known, their lives, their freedom of speech and their families would be endangered by blacks, Jews, Democrats and others who don't believe in America.
