Ahh, I love your topic: "I need help with my computer" :D, hear it day in day out, makes me feel confident LOL. Anyways, to get down to your solution:
The C:\Windows\drivercache\etc,etc files are not viruses and is a place to store files for various hardware driver configs and internet items. It is probably because you are running too much programs at once that is taking up too much system resources causing your PC to freeze and/or run slowly. Had it been a virus, there should be other signs; many people believe that just because their PC is slow, viruses have taken over.
What I recommend try doing is go start off by going to Start --> Run --> type in "MSCONFIG" and go to the last tab called "Startup". Here, you will see a long list of programs that run without you knowing in the background, eating up your system resources. Uncheck any boxes that resemble either uneeded third party software and/or files you know you do not need (e.g. INTERNAT --> useless unless you type other than english on your PC). Once you are done, click ok and restart your PC.
If your PC is still slow, you might want to visit www.pcworld.com/52516, where there is a list of free software that is good at fixing system sluggishness (my recommendations are Adaware, Spybot, CCleaner, Registry Cleaner), others are also good, just read up on their descriptions to find the ones most suitable for you.
Finally, if none of this work, perhaps you may want to consider how much system resources you have. If this has happened for a long time, perhaps you need a RAM upgrade or your CPU is just too old to run your OS.

The first thing you should do now is run the "Scandisk" program, to find any potential errors in the computer.
If your problem is not fixed , restart the computer, while holding down the SHIFT button. This will run the computer in safe mode. This is to see whether your computer is being slowen down by a program. If the computer is fixed in safe mode, restart the computer and, on the main desktop hold CTRL + ALT + DEL. A list of all of the current programs, that are running on your computer, will appear. From that list, you can find the program that is retarding your computer.
If that still doesnt work, defragment your harddrive.

PS : Hope this helps you out.

hi, perhaps you got adware or virus in your computer, then all can slow your computer. Perhaps can try norton or Macfee, or spyware doctore to remove the spyware, these three software all need a fee to use..
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox cannot remove the spyware, but it can disable this spyware to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

Do you have a registry cleaner? It's another scanner. Try Disk Check. Click on START, then MY COMPUTER, then HARD DISK DRIVE; LOCAL DISK C, then right click on LOCAL DISK: C, then click on PROPERTIES, then TOOLS, then CHECK NOW, then CHECK DISK OPTIONS, then check BOTH BOXES SHOWN, "Automaticlly fix file system errors, and check "Scan for and attempt recovery", then click START. BUT--you'll get a message telling that you must restart Windows. Click on OK, then restart Windows. When it boots up, you'll get a blue screen which will then automatically start the disk check, which will take about 30 to 45 mins. That should help a lot!! Also, do disk defragmenter. Same place: click START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, DISK DEFRAGMENTER.

You should do system recovery which erases every thing. Then you need to download Norton anti virus and do a complete scan. Then reload every thing back on to the computer

Start your computer in the safe mode, most computers use f8 to get there, turn it off, then on, hold down f8 and run your virus program.
If that does not work, get a different virus program.

Just buy more memory (RAM). Double what you have right now. Right-click on My Computer and choose "Properties" to see how much memory you have. If you double it, or better yet get as much as the computer can handle, it will feel like a brand new computer.
