"Why do some people leave their Christmas lights/outdoor decorations up until June?"

superbooks1@yahoo.com ANSWERS:

There are a million reasons in this naked city to why people leave their lights and decorations up till June. Here are just a few of the reasons:

1. Elderly people put them up and then realize they are too tired to take them down so they leave them up for months.

2. Some people have OTHERS do their lighting work for them and the price to take lights down in JUNE might be much cheaper than taking lights down in January -right after the holidays. It's the supply and demand thing. EVERYONE wants their lights down pronto, so the companies doing this can charge much more in January and February , and who knows they might even offer a speical JUNE rate for taking lights down.

3. Some people LOVE their lights and love seeing their house all lit up at night and take advantage of every single month that they can so they leave them up until June every year.

4. Some people are victims of abuse, and if so, you'll notice they do things "abnormally" and that includes leaving lights up all year round. Their lives are in such a mess that taking Christmas lights and decorations down are a mere unimportant task. They are busy being concerned about living through one more day or being concerned about staying alive. In the ibig scheme of things, in some families, the 'taking down " of Christmas lights just might not be that important to them as it is to you. Perhaps a little sympathy on your part, if you see these types of patterns, be kind to the owners perhaps you can bring the spirit of peace into their lives by just being nice to them. Offer to help take the lights down?

5. Some people are just plain lazy.

6. There is no other reason, it's just because they want them up.

7. Last but never least, some people put up their Christmas lights and decorations as a profession of their faith or belief in Jesus, and their faith is all year round so they don't need to take these things down in December or January . They like them up.

8. Some times landlords put the lights up and they don't even live in the building and the tenants have no permission to take them down so they leave them up until the landlord comes to take them down.

9. Sometimes superintendants leave them up long as a "hint" to tenants to give them some holiday gifts. Take the hint and tip your superintendant to day, and perhaps next week the lights might, I said might, come down.

So, why do you leave YOUR lights and decorations up?

My question is why does everyone feel like what their neighbor does is their concern? Or, why is conformity such an issue in our society? Or, why do we only want our houses to look warm, colorful and inviting for three weeks a year?
