Mel, bless his heart, had a few too many to drink, and managed to develope a severe case of diarhea of the mouth.... he probably didn't mean it, but drink has a tendency to cause people to sometimes speak what they are really feeling....
He was a bit anti-Semitic in his comments. I can imagine we all suffer from some sort of prejudice. He is to go through rehab for his alcohol problem... and perhaps he will learn to hold his tongue.
We are all guilty of this problem... but since he is a celebrity, he is more in the limelight for something he does or says than we are.... Stars are not allowed to be human.

It has been reported that when he was stopped for a traffic violation he asked the officer if he was a "Jew". He was also reported to have caused a great commotion at the station. He has since apologized for his action and while be taking a class to help him deal better.
I really am not sure what the whole thing is about and why every action a celebrity makes has be reported, re-reported, follow-up reported and then re-reported in the follow up. It is a senseless waste of time and it is just gossip masquerading as news. I am not impressed.
I mistakenly clicked on one Mel story and left the room. Those still in the room said that at least four more reports followed-all about the same incident! Let it go people.

Apparently, when Mel was arrested or durring the arrest he shouted some anti-jewish remarks.
According to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Sheriff's Department report says Gibson told the arresting deputy: "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," and asked him, "Are you a Jew?"
And it's all heresay but it could be true.

its just a big media blow up about him driving under the influence. he was speeding in a 45 ph zone (he was going 87) he had an open bottle of tequila in the car with him and he had an alcohol level of .12 (california its only supposed to get to .08) so he was well over the limit. While the sheriff was talking to him mel blamed that all the wars start because of the jews and then asked the sheriff if he was a jew.
hope he goes to jail......

I still don't understand what everyone is so mad about.He apologized and I believe he meant it.What Gibson did is nothing compared to what that man did in Seattle!!!!!Shooting six people and killing one who were Jewish is way more anti-Semitic.Oh did I mention he was a Muslim?People are already starting to give that Muslim anti-Semite a pass by saying he is mentally unstable.I think people need to lay off Mel and focus on the real threats to the Jews like radical Muslims and there supporters the U.N.

When he got of the car he started ranting that Jews are ruining the world. Then he asked the cop (who was male) if he was a Jew. The media took off with it because Hollywood is still upset with him because they feel the Passions movie was anti-semitism. I think it is fair to say there are alot of Jews running Hollywood, so they took offense to the movie and are still taking it out on him, even though he generates a ton of money for them.

you got it backwards, he hates Jews. he was pulled over for DUI, he berated the officer made numerous anti-semetic remarks, and basically made a complete *** oh himself. I'm just surprised it took so long. his family belongs to a group that split from the catholic church decades ago. they don't be live the Holocaust happened, the think Jews and not Romans crucified Christ , just on and on with their utter rubbish.

Aparently, he was drunk driving. Police caught him speeding and swerving at 2:36 AM in Malibu and pulled him over. Chack out the article down there.

He got a DUI. While he was being arrested he made nasty comments about jewish people and women. He later apologized for his drunken behavior and said he did not mean it but sometimes the truth comes out when people are drunk... But maybe it was just drunken nonsense...
Definately a PR nightmare.
